Michelle’s “Tart & Tangy” card class was a great success… everyone left with their eight beautiful cards completed, along with envelopes and smiles, so… we have asked Michelle to schedule more card classes at Captured Moments! Her next class is Tuesday, September 21st at 6pm-8pm. This class is called ”Artistic Etchings” and participants will complete 5 beautiful cards while learning new and valuable stamping techniques. Week #2 of the BYOB Garden Journal has already come and gone! By the way, the back-ordered flowers that you recieved a note about in week #1’s kit, have arrived. You will be getting them as you pick up your week #2 packets. Tiffany decided to hand out the package as opposed to separating the flowers by week so they will be used a few weeks in a row. Just follow the diagrams and images here or in your kit and you will have no problem!!

We hope you are enjoying this edition of BYOB Club… remember, the next BYOB Club sign-ups will be available at our Big Birthday Bash Open House Celebration on Saturday, October 2nd!! It will be a Christmas themed album just in time for the gift-giving holiday to arrive!

The Garden Journal edition of the Build Your Own Book Club has begun. Week #1 began on Friday, August 6th. This time around, instead of a progressive building of the pages, we decided to simplify things for the club and include all pieces to the two page layouts each week. It makes it a bit harder on us, but much easier for the club. Each week, both pages will be complete! Here are the two pages for week #1

We have combined some beautiful papers from My Mind’s Eye along with Prima flowers, colorful fibers and sparkling bling to make this album really special.

Our next BYOB which should begin in the Fall will be a Christmas Album, so watch for our posting for sign-ups for the next BYOB Club!

While at CHA, we had the opportunity to meet many of the reps that we deal with over the phone or through e-mail. It was wonderful to put a face to a name and at the My Mind’s Eye booth, there was also A LOT of hugging going on! MME has the cutest, most good-looking, and did I mention sweetest men who run that outfit! (Hummm…Maybe that was why their booth was always so full of people?)

Anyway, MME’s new lines are great. We couldn’t resist their new Lost & Found line especially since they have now added embellishments. Each of the four lines are accented with a touch of glitter here and a spot of shimmer there… it is really nice and between all four collections, there is something for everyone. Our incredibly creative friends, Melanie and Marilyn have done it again… they have a great workshop to bring to Captured Moments. Class size may be limited, but it is an open registration so sign up right away if you are interested!

Here is further information regarding the Altered Curiosity Cabinet Workshop that Melanie and I are conducting.
Where:  Captured Moments Scrapbook Store, Curry Road, Rotterdam, NY
Time:  10:30a.m. – 4:00p.m.
Fee:     $35.00 plus materials fee of: $15.00 (this is a cost-intensive class and that is why we are asking for the materials fee to cover some of the costs including the cabinet itself)

Come join us for a fun and creative day learning Assemblage (3-D Design). Melanie will share her expertise with new techniques and also a very cool process for decorating the top of the cabinet.  There will be lots of trinkets, doo-dads, ephemera and embellishments that will be provided for sharing.  In addition, each student will be provided with a kit for their own use; as well as the cabinet itself.

Students are encouraged to bring with you photos, ephemera, miniatures, favorite charms and any found objects to personalize your project.  Please keep the height to 2 inches or less.  You can choose one or more themes or have your piece be themeless.  Possibilities are endless.

Also; students please bring Gesso, Gel Medium, and a foam brush along with your regular tool kit, scissors, etc.

Make sure you pack a lunch and bring water or your choice of liquid refreshment as this workshop will be a full day.

Note:  all registrations and payment should be received by August 23, 2010.
Registrations are not considered final until we receive payment.

No refunds after August 25th.
