We love making these interesting little curiosities. Each one is so different and interesting to look at!
Starting with a dollar store, wooden, divided box and a gathering of Christmas knick knacks a direction was set for this project. Each 2×2 inch square is it’s own little display of holiday fun. The original box was unfinished, so a quick coat of black craft paint gives this piece a vintage look as well. Here are some close up shots of the showcases. We hope this project gives you some great ideas.
box close up (a): A teeny gift bag with candy canes, everything is iced with twinklets.
box close up (b): A vintage mini ornament and some pearls. A small bottle of dreams in the background. Notice the fireplace-like back drop and the tiny wreath.
box close-up (c): an antiqued star and a bucket of coal? Does Santa really keep coal on hand?
box close-up (d): sugared gum drops, candycanes and mints. Everyone should Believe!
box close-up (e): A snow covered wagon, wow!
box close-up (f): A domino, a mini drum (home made drum sticks too!), some icey jacks and a bingo number. Lot's of fun things
box close-up (g): A white snowy tree with presents all around.
The top of the box has an assortment of favorite things, nicely displayed, including an old, mini scooter.
This project idea will work wonderfully for any holiday or occasion. Imagine it in a Halloween or Eatser motiff!
