A Little More Info About Our Computer Issue

The computer itself was infected with some malicious viruses and they were cleaned up… no problem, the computer is just a computer. Our issue stems from the program, the software, that is our cash register/inventory databse/customer database. This program, although really neat, is 6 years old, pretty outdated and not currently supported by the company that made it! There were problems from the start that we kind of ignored, so it doesn’t suprise us that something like this could happen. We do not have a way to “fix” the problem with the program. So, what we have is a useless program that we can’t update, add any more data to or access for any useful purpose. The information we have is what we had until the day the program stopped running.
So, what we did was come up with solutions that addresses all issues associated with losing this program. Change is good… sometimes, there is an adjustment and then everything begins to flow again.
We do appreciate your concerns and we ask that you be patient with us when you are in the store and we are trying to ring up your purchases while we adjust to a different machine and process. Enough said on the subject… don’t you think!!
We have begun issuing the Reward’s cards as well. It took a lot of thought and decision making when addressing the Reward’s issue, so we hope it is acceptable to all who participate!! While passing these Reward’s cards out, we are gathering current/updated info such as e-mail addresses and phone numbers.
