Build Your Own Book Club is Underway!
Captured Moments Clubs, Page lay-out Ideas, TutorialsThe Captured Moment’s B.Y.O.B. (Build Your Own Book) Club is underway and off to a great start! The 1st week issued on Friday, July 17th and includes the 1st and the 20th pages of the book. This article will demonstrate a step-by-step guide to putting these two pages together. Remember, some of your pages will not be complete until later weeks, when additional elements get added.
When you open your kit, make sure all of the pieces are accounted for and follow along. Between the instructional sheet included in the kit and this blog entry, you should have no problem!
Page #1 All of the page parts including this week's Extra Embellishment: Ribbon
This image shows paper placement of page #1 without the placement of the embellishments
Ribbon is placed on seams of paper as shown and wrapped around the back to secure into place
Wrap about an inch of ribbon behind the page and secure it to the back
For page #1, tag embellishment needs a hole punched and two pieces of ribbon tied on as shown
Here is the completed Page #1 for week one
Page #1 is a beautiful but simple page… as we move to Page #20 and other pages throughout this 10 week process, we hope that our B.Y.O.B. club teaches you some new techniques and offers new ideas to bring to other scrapbooking projects you do. Tiffany loves to layer papers and add lot’s of extras to a page. Our goal is to share our ideas and hope we are giving you some opportunity to try something you haven’t tried before!
Let’s move on to Page #20, the last page of the book and a little more involved!
Here are all of the parts needed for Page #20, the last page of the book
Page #20, placement of red-line tape or adhesive, adhere only on the bottom of the paper sections, as shown
Page #20, placement of the middle section of page, layered
Page #20, placement of middle section of page
Page #20 Placement of paper layers, adhered only along bottoms
This image attempts to show each layer on page #20 and how it is only taped on the bottoms
Page #20, paper placed with added embellishment, no tags yet...
The tags that get added to this page just slip into the layers formed from adhering only the bottoms of the middle and lower sections. Some tags are complete and need no additional work while others need added embellishments and/or ribbon.
Here are all the tags used on Page #20 layed out. Also shown are two small paper embellishments that get added
This set of tags need no additional work (accept inking of course!)
This set of tags need no additional work
The blue printed tags only need cream ribbon tied on!
The orange , rounded tags are adorned with paper embellishments and checkered ribbon
The next series of images will attempt to show you how to tie the green ribbon on the green tags. The green tags have a double hole punch and the ribbon is strung through in 3 quick steps.
String green ribbon through the two holes as shown
Take one end of the ribbon and pull it through the other hole. That end will now be sticking out of the back of the tag
Pull that same end back through the first hole, adjust ribbon and trim edges
This view from above may help show how the ribbon is strung through the holes. Each hole winds up with two strands of ribbon going through it
Wow! This was fun (and easy), huh?
Here are the two green tags with ribbons strung, ready to go onto the page
Page #20 Complete with all of the tags, ribbons and embellishments!
Next week the B.Y.O.B. issue will be for Page #2 and Page #3. We will post an article like this one with images and instruction. If you need any additional instruction while working with your kits, please contact us. Have fun!
