Mini Accordion Album, Step-by-Step Tutorial
TutorialsWe created this project to present as a workshop at a weekend long retreat we attended this spring. It was a very popular class and we have had numerous requests for additional kits and instruction. This is an easy, but totally functional project, perfect for any gift giving occasion or just to showcase a favorite set of photos for your coffee table or desk at work!
The Accordion almun, finished, measures 4″ x 51/2″ and opens to 8 pages for photos and journaling.

The Life is Good Accordion Album
Since our project kits are pre-cut and ready for assembly, this project start to finish only takes a few minutes! The only tools needed besides the kit itself is your adhesive and your ink (if you are an inker).

Here is what the kit consists of
One important note to anyone wishing to recreate this project… we used Bazzill card stock that measured 12″ x 24″ to make the accordion pages so that we would not have to piece pages together. The same accordion section can be made from piecing 3 sections cut at 5 1/2″ x 12″, scored at the 4″ marks and overlapping the ends.

Setting up the parts before inking and assembling
If you like to ink the edges of your papers, ink all the edges now, before taping.

If you are creating this project on your own, alternate mats within the accordion folds for extra interest and color. We used an alternating pattern of solids and coordinating prints within our accordion pages.

Taping or Glueing is your choice
Once your album is completed, add your photos, journaling and definitely add your own special touches. Maybe some additional subtitles, stickers, ribbon or fibers, anything is possible and everything is acceptable!
Have fun.
